Personal training for weight loss
in Santa Rosa.
E Studio is a private, one-on-one strength studio in downtown Santa Rosa. Clients working on weight loss come here for the half of the equation that dieting alone does not cover: keeping the muscle you have, and building a little more, so the weight you lose is fat rather than the tissue that keeps your metabolism running. Thirty minutes, once a week, supervised, by appointment.
- ✔ One 30-minute session a week. No class to keep up with, no schedule to reorganise your life around.
- ✔ Supervised one-on-one, so intensity goes up while risk stays down — the thing that makes people quit.
- ✔ A maximum of four people on the floor. Nobody is watching you learn.
The scale is the
wrong number.
Weight loss is decided at the table. What you eat sets the deficit, and no amount of exercise reliably out-runs a diet. What training decides is what you lose. In a calorie deficit the body will give up muscle alongside fat unless something asks it not to, and a hard weekly strength session is that ask.
That matters more than it sounds. Muscle is metabolically active tissue, so holding onto it supports your resting metabolic rate through the deficit — and a body that has kept its muscle is a body that regains weight less easily afterwards. More on SuperSlow, weight loss and muscle tone.
Practically, this is why clients often notice their clothes fitting differently before the scale moves much. Fat is bulkier than muscle at the same weight, so body composition can shift a long way while the number stays put. How slow-tempo workouts build strength and burn fat at the same time.
Sustainable beats
intense for six weeks.
- i.Once a week is a schedule people keep. Most weight-loss programmes fail on adherence rather than design, and a single recurring 30-minute appointment survives a busy month in a way that five gym visits does not.
- ii.Slow tempo removes momentum, which removes most of the joint load. That matters if you are carrying extra weight now — there is no jumping, no running, and nothing that punishes your knees for starting.
- iii.Your trainer records the numbers every week. Progress you can see on paper is what keeps people going through the months when the scale is being stubborn.
- iv.Nothing here depends on willpower on the day. You show up at your time, your trainer has the programme in front of them, and thirty minutes later you are done.
What we will not promise.
We will not put a number of pounds on this page. Weight loss depends on your diet, your starting point, your medications and your health history, and any studio quoting you a figure before meeting you is guessing. What we can tell you is what the training does: it builds and defends strength and lean muscle, and it does so on a schedule you can actually keep.
We are not a nutrition service either. We will happily talk about how training fits alongside whatever eating plan you and your doctor have settled on, but the diet is yours. How this compares to a high-intensity group studio.
E Studio has been on Humboldt Street since 2005, and a lot of our clients have trained here for ten and twenty years. That is the honest pitch: not a transformation in six weeks, but something you are still doing in six years.
